It's been a long time since I've shared anything about my
journey as an artist.
Becoming one is a dream that I have had
since I was a young girl of seven.
I remember collecting odd pieces of sheet rock scraps
that were left over from the addition that my Dad was
building onto our house.
I would draw on them with crayons..
a duck..
a horse..
And DREAM of becoming an artist one day.

One thing that I've been working on for quite some
time is to be present in the moment.
Not looking back or spending
journey as an artist.

One thing that I've been working on for quite some
time is to be present in the moment.
Not looking back or spending
too much time thinking about what I
have ahead of me. If I have the need to look
ahead too much and feel pressured,
then I have come to realize that I am
over-committed.
When I focus on the here and now,
I have noticed that I am less stressed
and the peace in my heart allows
me to truly focus.
I can focus more on the people
nearby and take in the beauty that
is everywhere
Noticing the smallest of things.
The quality of my time increases dramatically!
In my creative space, I have become aware of
the fact that I can concentrate for
longer periods of time when my mind
isn't focusing on so many things.
And this allows me to go to a deeper place
of creativity which will ultimately result in the
beauty and inspiration that I wish
for my heart and hands to create.
I love this and it's so encouraging
to know that one has much control of these things.
I am still learning and have far from
perfected this area of my life.
But I am determined.
The other day I read this article about
information overload.
It was very interesting as
well as scientific and
I was surprised by the facts.
If you are concerned about this at all for
yourself or someone you know,
it's helpful information.
I'm very grateful to God for my gifts and the heart's
desire that He has given me to use them. My resources
are extremely abundant.
I have a life that allows all of these things.
I am also grateful
for the beauty that surrounds,
the eyes that capture that beauty,
and the ability to understand what beauty is.
This beautiful sunset is from
a recent walk that I was enjoying with
my husband and daughter.

I still have yet to share about our music.
Some day.
I hope you all have a peaceful week.
Loving thoughts and prayers to my blogging friends

I'd very much like to learn about your music Tamara.
Your picture of the sunset with the lyrics is beautiful.
INformation overload is a worry I believe- I feel strongly about that at times. I loved to hear of your creativity as a child. I was always very creative too- drawing many pictures in my sketchpad, making my own cards, writing my own books full of stories- happy times- I suspect that is why I am still very much a dreamer.x
Hi Kezzie..
I can imagine that you were creative as a child as you are very creative now! In your writing, your stylish dress and your crafts that you share on your blog.
I hope to share more of our music sometime soon. Thank you so much for your visit and kind words. Have a wonderful day~
Blessings and hugs..
I try to practice this everyday in my life too.
It is all that we have! In our own eyes we already are the artist!
A lovely article Tamara!
A beautiful post Tamara, true words. I hear you when you talk about being stretched between too many things, the overload. That's so me. Too many things that I'd love to learn and do and too little focus on what's most important and on the here and now. Thank you sweetie for this post! xx
Hi Suzy..You are so wise. It's very true that it's all that we have! And my validation as an artist shouldn't depend on outward circumstances but sometimes I see it that way so thank you for that sweet reminder. It's so nice to have you visit. Thank you..
Many hugs.. <3
Thank you, Wen,
And I understand. My list of things to do and learn is very long as well and sometimes it drives me instead of inspiring me. I guess we will just keep working on trying to be a little less focused to keep that peace. Thank you for your visit and sharing your thoughts.
Blessings..
xo
Hi Tamara! Thank you for sharing your determination and focus! It gives me encouragement too! Over stretching myself never leads to fulfilment if I could only remember that!
Hope you enjoy every minute of your day today!
Blessings
Christine
Such a beautiful post, Tamara. Something we all need to do is focus on the moment, and find the joy in each day.
Sending hugs your way,
Lin
You're welcome Christine.. Isn't it a blessing how we can encourage one another? I appreciate your visit and well wishes :) Thank you so much..I hope your day is full of good things. <3

Thank you Lin.. and you're right.. There's so much joy and beauty around us, if we only take the time to breathe and take it all in. Many blessings and hugs to you.

Hello Tamara, what a beautiful post and so true as so many of us over extend ourselves! With the holidays coming this is the time when it happens for me.
I love that pretty sunset. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your creations.

This is how I choose to live too Tamara. At my age I am realizing that when I was young I lived with a future mind set and I find that too many people live in the past when they are old. Living in the present is a freedom. There is peace in it and I believe it takes trust to do it. Trust in God. I have been an artist since I was little. My parents have framed drawing of mine from when I was five. I have known that is who I am for all my life. It took a long time to find the freedom to be a full time artist. Blessings in choosing to live present and in all that you create. xo Kerrie
Hi Kerrie..
What a beautiful thing to realize your purpose and to have the support of your parents at such a young age. I can also remember living for the future when I was younger and even some in my older years. I wanted to run from some circumstances but had to come to peace with them. But as I work on giving everything to God and trusting Him, He has led me to a place of peace and has ultimately put me on this road of finding and expressing myself through seeing and creating beauty. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely thoughts and experiences and for coming by.
Blessings to you <3
Oh my goodness Tamara, reading this was like you were reading my mind!
I recently blogged a lot of the same sentiments and though I had not read your post here, some would think I 'copied' your words!
I spoke of learning to 'live in the present' and find the joy and blessings in each season and 'give way' to the here and now...
(oops I'm writing a book again)
Anyway, I'm so glad I found my way back to your blog! I've been working my way through a few of your posts and really enjoying them~
You are a beautiful artist! and writer as well : )
Blessings to you~ Karen O
Hi Karen..

Hugs,
Tamara
